Please be safe on the lake and be aware of the following:

  • The lake is very deep in parts and there are many users on the lake which can lead to collisions if users are not keeping aware. Please be aware of other users and ensure that you are wearing suitable buoyancy aids appropriate to your activity
  • Like all bodies of water in London, the lake is susceptable to Weils disease which is a water bourne disease carried by rats. Please ensure cauts and grazes are covered before going into the water and if you feel unwell after, please consult your GP.
  • The lake is affected by Blue-Green algae in the summer months. Although the lake is treated and managed in an envuronmentally sound way, youy should also be aware and not enter the lake on teh rare occsaions when there is a RED warning

West end of the Lake

Access is via the larger entrance and car park off Forest Road, located with the hire wire and ball pond activities

Fairlop Rowing Club

The Fairlop Rowing club is located at the West side of the lake. The club caters for both adult and junior (11 yrs+)

Fairlop Waters Sailing Club

The Fairlop Water Sailing Club is located at the West side of the lake. The club was established in 1978 and is an RYA affiliated club.

Fairlop Waters Windsurfing Club

The Fairlop Waters Windsurfing Club is located at the West side of the lake.

Rowing and Pedal boat hire

At the West end of the lake on weekends and school holidays you can hire rowing boats, pedal boats and katakanoes from the main slipway.

Aquabounce

On the West end of the lake there are giant inflatable waterslides in the summer seasons

East end of the Lake

Entrance and car park is via smaller entrance off Forest Road next to the bouldering and the Fairlop Water Angling Lake

Fairlop Paddlesport

The paddle club operates mostly on Saturday mornings from the Fairlop Outdoor Activity Centre on the East side of the lake.
