Volunteering session

On Sunday 21st November we have another volunteering day from 9:30 till 4:30. If you can make the monring, afternoon or the whole day, please let us know by emailing info@fairlopwaters.org.uk. Don’t worry too much about references unless you think you can volunteer regulalrly throughout the coming year, in which case please sady and we will ask for Vision to process a DBS for you.
The important job involves pulling up the protective matting along the shoreline and fixing it back down without the large pins that currently hold it. We hope to extend this with new matting accross all of the shoreline to protect the new boats when being launched. By launching and recovering the boats directly off the foreshore, the time taken to get on the water for large groups will be much reduced, giving more time afloat.
In addition, there are gardening, boat repair and lots of other ‘wintering’ things that are needed to keep the centre going while protecting things in the quieter season.
