Our home education sailing group has been using Fairlop Outdoor Activity Centre for approximately 3 years now. We have two groups of primary and secondary aged children who attend sessions there on consecutive days every week through all seasons and in all weathers. Some of the children also attend the holiday courses at the centre.
As well as sailing and working through the Youth Sailing Scheme, the children have taken part in various other water based activities such as kayaking. The regular coaching and training that has been provided by the amazing staff at FOAC has been invaluable in providing the children with a wide range of skills and experiences. Their team working skills, self-confidence and communication skills have all improved greatly.
The affordability and accessibility of FOAC has been key to the success of our group, providing opportunities to children who would otherwise not have the chance to take part in water sports.
