4th EFS Sea Scouts at Fairlop

This centre has hosted us for over 20 years, since having to move from King George Reservoir and sell the majority of our boats. It is the absolute centre of our programme and the only way that we are able to run a Sea Scout Group from our land-locked location. We typically have 50 or more young people on the lake doing paddle sports, sailing and rowing every week throughout our summer programme.

Whenever we try to add extra sessions we find that there are other youth groups already using the centre. It is rammed during its open season.

Without this centre our group will lose its RN accreditation, losing further opportunities to gain access to Royal Navy facilities and will be unable to continue operating as a sea scout unit. The nearest alternative facilities are outside of the borough and too far to transport young poeple to on a regular basis.
